Gnome 2 had a nice applet for this, seems to be part of Indicator Applet Session 0.4.6
Any equivalent or port for MATE please?
Basically a button on the panel you click and it shows a list all users (with an icon next to logged on ones, nice but not essential), and lets you click a username to switch to that user. So like going Lock > username but in one step.
I've tried insalling various packages in mint16 and not found this one?

hmm just tried MATE 1.8 (on Ubuntu 14.04, waiting for Mint17!) and no sign of the applet there either! that's a shame. there is an applet to lock the screen but it's not as good as we had in Gnome 2.32, that listed all the usernames.
