I loaded Mint 12 on a Dell Dimension 2400 and everything looks fine except for the menu is missing from the bottom bar, when using GNOME and GNOME Classic. I have tried different desktops and the only one that gives me the bottom bar is MATE but using that takes away the new top bar (which I like). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
You can right click on panel, select new panel on new panel right click select add to panel: Mint menu, windows list , notification area, clock workspace switcher , anything you want. After that you can delete bottom panel.
I am also having this problem, although I should qualify my comments with the fact that I'm running Mint inside VirtualBox. When you say 'right click on panel', what is this panel you are talking about? I see nothing labeled 'panel' on my desktop.
