[Maya] Cinnamon not launching for Lisa user

Hi there,

I must say that overall I am very pleased with Maya so far... I had to tweak a lot to have a Lisa working with MATE, but Maya works with cinnamon and my drivers out of the box.

Still I have this strange issue :
when I start my user session (ported from Lisa with MATE, my /home is on a separate partition), cinnamon does not launch correctly.
I can still invoke a terminal (ctrl+alt+t), and a

Code: Select all

cinnamon --replace &

will launch it just fine

I tested by creating a bogus user, and lo ! cinnamon will launch just fine with it too, without any intervention.

I suspect there must be a user specific config/script preventing me to launch cinnamon correctly, but I am clueless to which.

Any idea ?

Previous Lisa mishaps
- Started with default distrib, did not work that well with poorly supported video drivers (Radeon 6310)
- Installed MATE, and went that way ok

+1 for me also.

It crashed once (cannot remember what I was doing. and now I have to use Gnome Session + cairo dock to get going.)
Am looking at stuff but I loathe to touch too much as I can live with a crack but hate breakage.
