Even more cinnamon problems

Following my initial problem of cinnamon completely freezing, I found the software rendering thread and activated it. Now I have encountered several more problems since. First of all, my window borders come up as a jotted yellow and white line, and secondly my resolution is wrong when I log in and I cant change it on the display settings, so I have to do it in nvidia settings. The trouble is if I try to save it to my xorg.conf my screen turns blue and says out of range every time I log in. So I have to just change it and click apply every time I log on now

I'm having the same problem (Nvidia Drivers + Mint 13 Maya + Freezing)
