important windows not flashing

In most DE when a window needs attention (new message, task done, etc) it begins flashing or try to get your attention in some other way. However in cinnamon nothing like this happen, is this intended? a setting? or a bug? am I missing something?

Edit: after some fiddling it doesn't seem to be a cinnamon issue, flashing/notification is broke in others DE too, apologize for the wrong forum.

I just noticed this also. I'll have to see if Avant Window Navigator's icon bounce when they need attention. This is a show stopper bug, at least for me.

Hi people, I started using cinnamon as a gnome3 replacement, but I came across this same issue ... I need those notifications for im chat (pidgin/sametime) ... is there a solution/workaround for this?
