Resize bottom panel?

The default size of the bottom panel in Cinnamon is a little small for a large screen monitor. In gnome2 I always set the bottom panel size to 36 pixels, but there does not seem to be a way to resize the the panel in Cinnamon. Is there an easy way to do this so that my tired old eyes can see it better? If not, I'd like to recommend that this feature be included in future versions of Cinnamon. Otherwise I find it to be very usable as a replacement for gnome2 and I like it fine. Thanks!
