Window list pushes other applets out of the panel

I'm running cinnamon 1.4. When there are more than six windows, I find the applets on the left side to window list (such as menu, show desktop and panel launcher) are push to the left and even out of the panel.
I tried restoring all cinnamon settings to default and after that window list worked well.
However, after I rearranged some applets in panel editing mode, particularly after I moved the applets over the window list to the other side, the window list became abnormal again.
Any solutions?
