Prevent Nemo from handling the desktop

Hi

In order to prevent Nemo from handling the desktop I had to install dconf-editor and check and uncheck show-desktop-icons in org.desktop.background. (I have no idea why the box wasn't checked already.)

Does anyone know why this option has been removed from Cinnamon Settings? There used to be an option called "Have the file manager handle the desktop" (paraphrasing).
