There are some hibernate options if you open Software Manager from the menu and type search word 'hibernate'. I'm trying this now.
Also,
- Code: Select all
ls /usr/share/hibernate/scriptlets.d/
acpi_sleep gaim misclaunch programs vbetool
backlight galeon modules remount_xfsboot videodump
bootsplash gfx_brightness modules_gentoo services xhacks
clock grub network suspend2 xstatus
devices hardware_tweaks networkmanager swsusp2_15
diskcache lilo newkernel sylpheed_claws
fbsplash lock pause_audio sysfs_power_state
filesystems lockfile pcmcia ususpend
Best thing I found:
[code]
install qshutdown. This is a small gui run from the command line that lets you timeout to hibernate. Trying it now.
qshutdown problem: computer would not reboot, and stay stuck on the Linux Mint splash screen qshutdown is not a Linux Mint package, so there is no apport support for it. Backk to square one (after I just reinstalled my os).
I think the solution involves some knowledge of hibernate vs. pm-hibernate. The reboot problem is the one at this link:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1970589. Although this link doesn't explain it in terms of using qshutdown, it is the same error at reboot: 'Could N0t Stat The Name /dev/dm-0' . I think maybe there must be a file within the source code of qshutdown where the package hibernate can be replaced by pm-hibernate.
I believe the source code is in this bigger package:
http://packages.debian.org/source/sid/shutdown-qapps
