creating shortcuts in LM14 Cinnamon fresh installs

Hey, i used to make shortcuts by creating files on the desktop such as:

#!/usr/bin/env xdg-open
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Aptana
Exec=/home/kentos/bin/Aptana_Studio_3/AptanaStudio3
Icon=/home/kentos/bin/Aptana_Studio_3/icon.xpm


But when I create that file and `chmod 0755`, it becomes enourmous! How can I set the icon to be scaled down to non-enourmous proportions.

Using the right click interface isn't creating a shortcut that I know how to customize either, in fact, I sort of forgot how I generated the above script in LM 13.
