Hello,

My problem is as follows i have two users on linux mint 14. In MDM i have seletced a theme with a userlist which appears fine however the face photos are missing. Both users have a .face png in there home directory. However when the login window is up there is no face icons next to the name. If i enable a default icons for all users then that will appear but obviously all users have the same icon. Has any one else come across this previously and if so how did you resolve?

Also on a second question i have tried adding a new MDM theme although when i try to add i get a message saying its not a valid tar.gz. Ideas anyone?

It will be a system location, not the user's /home driectory (folder) where such a file needs to be placed, otherwise people might expect to be able to place the file anywhere and have it run for their logon session..

To edit a system directory (folder) location, you need to prefix our editor with sudo (for terminal text editor) or gksudo (for a GUI editor..)

OK, so maybe Mint 14x is different

  • MDM now also features improved support for user lists and "faces", so instead of typing usernames you can select a theme with a userlist and simply select the user you want to log in as. If the user has a ~/.face picture, his/her face will appear to represent him/her in the list
--faces, themes sections..
  • I guess I would check the forums or any bug list for this issue..

It seems that the .face file must be owned by the user in whose home folder it is, and it cannot have any file extension.
