Mint 13/14, Cinnamon:

1. Is there an app similar to the old Gnome 2 "drawers" that is available for the panel launcher? (In Gnome 2, the drawer icon would open up a vertical window in which you could then store related related sets of icons.)

2. How can I re-order the icons on the panel laucher to suit my tastes? Is the only way to remove and re-add (at the end)?

1. There are probably others, but you can check this one: http://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/applets/view/60. As this is not Gnome 2, it works somewhat differently.

2. On Cinnamon 1.6.7 you can just grab them (press and hold left mouse button) and drag them in the order you want. Enable editing of your panel to move the panel launchers applet.

What about removing icons from the Panel Launcher App? The only right-click choice is to remove the entire Launcher app.
