[SOLVED] Nemo to handle desktop instead of Nautilus

Postby Konstigt on Wed Apr 10, 2013 11:43 am

Hello

Sorry if this is not the best forum for this but I couldn't find a better match!

I'm trying to get rid of Nautilus in Ubuntu 13.04 and replace with Nemo.

I have installed it from PPA + run this:

Code: Select all
xdg-mime default nemo.desktop inode/directory application/x-gnome-saved-search

Now it's the default for opening files.

But, handling the desktop? I can disable Nautilus with:

Code: Select all
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false

But I don't know how to make Nemo take over?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Actually found a solution by chance!

After disabling Nautilus I started gnome-tweak-tool & enabled "Have file manager handle the desktop". Now it's Nemo!
