This is very frustrating. I am unable to upgrade to 1.8. I have activated Romeo in the Software Sources. I have added the ppa given in the webupd8 post. (http://www.webupd8.org/2013/05/cinnamon ... enter.html) I have sudo apt-get updated and sudo apt-get upgraded all evening. Rebooted, logged out and in, whispered a quick prayer to Yog Sothoth.
And nada. "cinnamon --version" still shows "Cinnamon 1.6.7".
Accepting that I'm an idiot, what am I doing wrong?
