Linux Mint 15 Screenshot fails in VBOX at least. Also some cursor transparencies are wrong. Cursors were fine in LM 14.
I noticed this in 15 RC, but now that 15 is released, it still does not work.
My friend is visually impaired and needs large cursors and has been using the Comix Cursors to good effect. Specific comixcursors-righthanded show a dark gray box around the cursors.
The crystalcursors transparency works correctly.
Also screenshot in this environment captures a black rectangle with the cursor embedded.
All screenshots are black - Full Screen, windows or regions.
I have reported a bug here: https://github.com/linuxmint/community. ... t-18816547
I've attached the VBOX file.

The black screenshot typically has to do with graphics drivers. Is it an Intel card? Not that I would know a solution. Though with screenshots, you can try a different screenshot app. Shutter has worked here when graphics drivers have caused that problem.
Possibly Mint 15 uses a newer version of the graphics drivers.

More tests...
Linux Mint 14 and 15 both show black screen shots as Virtual Box client under both up to date Nvidia and AMD graphics.
Nvidia 560ti card, AMD Radeon HD 5700.
Both on Win7 Host, Virtual Box 4.12.0
64MB graphics memory, 3D enabled.
ComixCursors work fine on LM 14.
ComixCursors show bad transparency on LM 15 - up to date.
Crystal Cursors work fine on both for transparency.
Resizing client window of LM 14 client works fine, and background is resized without display problems.
Resizing client window of LM 15 client often trashes background. Menu and other windows are restored correctly.
I have not yet installed LM 15 on native hardware.

Cursors are broken on hardware too. Not just VMs.
LM15 cursor transparency is broken on hardware too. Screenshots work.

So, Screenshots are broken in a VirtualBox VM.
Cursor transparency is broken on both.
Notice that one of the screenshots tells you exactly what hardware this test was performed on.
BUT YOU can';t read the images because they can only be a tiny size. Even tho they are not hosted here.
So, I'll just pass the links to the images.

Screen shots fixed on HW, Still bad on VMs, Cursors still ba
Screen shots are still black on VMs. I'll do some more checking. But for the hardware screen shots are now working.
But Comix Cursors are still bad. Here's a screen shot from LM15 running on hardware.
Here's the bad cursor:
