I'm having the same problem as [url=http://superuser.com/questions/613951/how-do-i-prevent-home-folder-files-and-folder-from-showing-on-the-desktop-as-ico]this user on superuser.com[/url], and as far as I can tell, the logical solution is:

gsettings set org.nemo.preferences desktop-is-home-dir false
Unfortunately, this does not change what displays on my desktop. The desktop seems to refresh, but still nothing changes. This problem is only affecting one of the two users on this machine. Any ideas?
edit: Whoops, I guess a little bit more clicking would have led me to an answer. From the superuser page I linked above there is a link to the
issue on github I immediately discovered that for some reason ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs had all my directories set to home. Hopefully this post will help someone else in the future.
