Mint 15: Create non executable file by default
Every time I want to open executable textfile I have options to run, or display the file, because it's executable. Every new file I create is executable. How to disable this, i.e. make every new file not executable by default? Thanks

Where are you creating these text files, i.e. if you are creating these on a NTFS partition the clue is there already...

Yes, I do create them on a NTFS partition. Ok, so to solve this problem I need to figure out mount options. Thanks for advice.

Yes, assuming you are using ntfs-3g check its manpage. Specifically you'll want to set fmask and dmask correctly. Though if you remove execute permissions from files, you won't be able to execute any files directly. I have an example of how to set up fmask and dmask with ntfs-3g, though this one does grant execute permissions to all files: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=150757&p=787041#p786767
