I'm currently running Mint15 and have installed xscreensaver. If I let the computer sit for the alotted amount of time, the screensaver will kick in as it should. However, if I use Ctrl+Alt+L to manually lock my machine, the screensaver never comes on. Is there a way to force the screensaver to come on as soon as I lock my machine? The xscreensaver process is setup to launch at startup, but it's running as my user account, and not root. Not sure if that's the problem, as locking the screen may be a root-level process? If that's the problem, how would I change xscreensaver to run as root?
Thanks.

Re: Mint 15 and Xscreensaver
About halfway down this page... http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/man1.html it clearly states not to ever run xscreensaver as root. It's in the BUGS section (of which there aren't any according to the author).
I found this as well but never tried it myself... http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/faq.html#sleep-corner It's called Brightside and you can install it from Synaptic Package Manager, at least in LMDE.
