Dual Monitors - How to control where programs open

Post by timjam »

Hi,

Im sure this question must have been asked before buy im having trouble searching for the right thing to find it.

I'm running mint 16 with NVIDIA proprietary driver.

I have dual monitors set up with an LCD as my main screen and a projector as my second. The LCD is selected as my primary display for X screen but still sometimes windows and dialogue boxed open on the projector rather than the LCD.

Any one know what other setting I need to change?

Many thanks for any help/links

Tim

I've still not found a solution to this... any one got any thoughts?

Have I posted this in the right section?

I need an answer to this as well. Coming from Mint 13, Mate. The trick there was to have the app in question being the only one open. Put it where you want, close it, & the next time you open it that's where it will be. This isn't working for me in Mint 17, Cinnamon.

Hello.

Im using often monitors/ projectors.
Need use only 2 buttoms fn and when it down press your f-buttom,where monitor picture.
There are modes for use only one/both monitors and for change.
Every press change mode,i dont remember how many, but i think there can find what need.
To change mode take a bit time,so wait as changed.

My laptop use buttoms fn and f4,i know them are different on ofther computers.

Try it and i hope this help you.

Thanks FireSoul, but that is not the answer to my question. I have two monitors working. What I want to know is how to make (for example) Thunderbird open in the left monitor instead of the right one.

Anybody? Is this maybe fixed in 17.1 which is about to be released?
