(Solved) Running in software rendering mode

Post by Don_Pedro »

Running in software rendering mode.
Hola a todos,
I got this message ¨Running in software rendering mode¨

I upgraded the Kernel to 3.13.0 27 , I do not know until where and can upgrade the kernel and if there is a fix for Radeon R 2 graphic card. Nothing has changed,
inxi -G
Graphics: Card: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Mullins [Radeon APU A4-6000 with R2 Graphics]
X.Org: 1.15.1 drivers: ati (unloaded: vesa, radeon) FAILED: fbdev Resolution: 1366x768@76.0hz
GLX Renderer: Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.4, 128 bits) GLX Version: 2.1 Mesa 10.1.0

I run the recommended drivers :
Here drivers https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ynE ... sp=sharing

My fan is running full speed instantly after I run Cinnamon.

What should I do to resolve the probleme?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you , very useful this link.
In fact I tried before to install the AMD Catalyst Control Center but I did not find the right process.
With your link it worked
Now I can see videos without a CPU at 70 Celsius, only 45.

I should write I could , no I can, because when I restarted my laptop I got another problem. I got a black screen.
I ran the recovery option but it stay frozen and I get this messages: Starting load fallback Graphic devices

I am not sure there is a link between this issue and the AMD Catalyst Control Center.

Well , I did not know how to solve the graphic issue and I made some voodoo around the laptop and this morning he started without any problem.
Thank you I don´t get anymore the warning message Running in software rendering mode and the laptop doesn't overheat.

I checked the driver manager and still the same drivers than before.
Should I choose the recommended option ? Or stay on using manually installed drivers ?
Here the driver manager screen shot : https://docs.google.com/document/d/10iz ... sp=sharing

thats' the new driver, the first time you rebooted you probably didn't have the xorg.conf but then the driver corrected it and now it works as expected.
Please add [solved] to the subject of your first post.

Thank you very much that works perfectly (Watching a video Temperature falls from 70c to 42c)

Regarding drivers , I keep in the driver manager the option : continue using a manually installed driver instead to select Xserver-xorg-video-ati (recommended)

Right ?
