[SOLVED] Cinammon 1.4 ... no panel re-size yet?

Hi

I have seen several post on the imposibility to resize the bottom panel in previous versions of Cinammon; I have 1.4 with Mint 12. Is there a way to adjust it larger? With the small icons and letters looks cute, yet my eyes are kind of struggling...

If you use bottom panel, no. Cinnamon has the anchor point for the bottom panel in the wrong place so adjusting its size just messes things up. It's both reported and approved as a bug, though, so the devs are working on it and possibly have it sorted out for the next release.

If you use top panel you can have panel and panel font-size pretty much whatever you like.

I chaged the panel to the top, as suggested; how can I resize it? I put the Panel in Edit mode, and I don't see a way to have the panel bar wider, like draging down the edge with the mouse, or indicating a measurement in a config window.

Oh, there's no gui way of doing it but it's a relatively simple cinnamon.css edit

For default theme:

sudo gedit /usr/share/cinnamon/theme/cinnamon.css

Find this bit:

   color: #ffffff;
   background-color: #555555;
   font-size: 8.5pt;
   font-weight: normal;
   height: 25px;
}

And set "height" and "font-size" any way you wanna.
