Hey guys, i installed Linux Mint Maya, MATE edition, i love it, and don't wanna change to anything else, but i can't find a decent darker theme, anyone knows one?
i'm not in search for some eye candy or anything like that, just a simple darker theme. too much white hurts my eyes :)

i installed ORTA from the gtk2 section of gnomelook. so far so good, but i can't get icons to work.
faenza icons are already installed, but when i apply, they don't change. already reboot, but they won't change.
what am i doing wrong?

but can we also install icon packs? i don't know why faenza doesn't work. maybe because MATE? they install correctly, but aren't applied (returns to black gnome icons)

I personally like the Black Velvet theme from gnome-look and the Plasma Shock theme from xfce-look. But I do not know if work with MATE, since I haven't used it.

How about Shiki-Nouveau:

https://launchpad.net/~upubuntu-com/+ar ... 12_all.deb

It's the successor of the old Shiki-Wise-Theme in former Linux-Mint-Distributions. It supports GTK2/GTK3, so you have a consistent look in all Mate-Apps. (Remember: Mate needs GTK2-Support from the Theme, and some Apps - like Transmission or Audacious - needs a GTK3-Support from the Theme). So you need a Theme with GTK2/GTK3-Support. :)
