Peppermint Desktop Theme

Post by Pythzor »

How do I get my beloved Peppermint desktop theme installed on to Linux Mint 14 Nadia - Mate? I can't find it at http://art.gnome.org or http://linuxmint-art.org, or else where. Why isn't it included in Linux Mint repositories anymore?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,
Have a look at this thread - I installed Peppermint theme on Mint 13 mate (haven't tried it on Mint 14 as yet though).

Thank you for the suggestion. However, I've already been there. Mint-artwork-gnome_2.6.12 won't install because Mint-artwork-gnome_2.6.26 comes with Mint-meta-mate by default. When I uninstalled Mint-artwork-gnome_2.6.26 so that I could install Mint-artwork-gnome_2.6.12 synaptic removes Mint-meta-mate, too. Then when I try to install Mint-artwork-gnome_2.6.12, that doesn't happen either, citing dependency issues.

Am I going to have to reinstall Maya? Peppermint is the deal-breaker.

I presently have Shiki-Dark-Mint installed, but it's not Peppermint. http://linuxmint-art.org has Soft Green Themes which is based on Peppermint, but when I try to install it (by dragging and dropping the tar ball from desktop to the appearances window), it says, Soft Green Themes doesn't appear to be a valid theme. Which maybe it isn't for the same reasons that Peppermint isn't included in Nadia.

? ? ? I'm lost. Please explain.

And while you're at it, please give my inquiry a shot, too.

Thanks

Thank you very much. That's what I did: copied and pasted the peppermint theme (and all the rest of them) from a Linux Mint 14 Nadia-Mate dvd to my installed Linux Mint 14 Nadia-Mate.
