I have successfully managed to activate Compiz in Mint 13 Mate 64bit and followed all the steps outlined elsewhere on this board to eliminate excessive CPU usage, etc... The issue is that the title-bars look wrong and don't seem to match the theme. Something isn't quite right about them; I don't know, they almost look cartoonish.
Does anyone know how to make the title-bar match the theme?
Also, I can't seem to make the animations in Compiz Config Settings Manager take effect and work. Other effects like Negative and Screenshot do work though, so I think I almost have everything right. It's perplexing to me because, for instance, Wobbly Windows work fine but under Animations, things like the effects on Minimize don't work.
Maybe I just don't have some little something correct. and was hoping someone could lead me in the right direction.
Steps taken so far =
Installed Compiz configuration settings manager
Installed Compiz Fusion
Changed window manager from "marco" to "compiz" in configuration editor.
Opened Compiz configuration settings manager and check marked Enable Window Decorations and used gtk-window-decorator --replace for the command.
In Compiz Fusion, the window manager selected is Compiz.
