Starting compiz automatically?

Post by beetlejuice7 »

Hi noobz and guruz,

I followed this tutorial for getting compiz up and running:

http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/919

I was able to run compiz --replace and see the nice wobbly windows I missed so much. I followed the instructions and replaced the window manager bit using mate-conf-editor, but it seems I still need to run compiz --replace whenever I log in.

A quick check after logging in shows neither compiz nor marco running (I ran

Code: Select all

ps aux | grep compiz
and

Code: Select all

ps aux | grep marco
). Do I need to run it by hand every time?
