Hi all,

I have a clean install of Linux Mint 13 MATE and direct rendering is working according to glxinfo.
When I try to run Compiz, this is what I get:

Code: Select all

tak@Samaria ~ $ compiz --replace

Integration : true
Profile : default

Any idea how to make it work? Thank you!

f you want to get compiz working, do not open terminal and type compiz --replace.
Instead, I suggest you: - set the options in Compiz Configuration Settings Manager first (you must first download config. Manager :-)] then - put "compiz --replace" in Startup Applications, then - change the Window Manager (see below for a quicker way),then - logout and login.

To change the Window manager on the command line use this:
mateconftool-2 -t string -s /desktop/mate/session/required_components/windowmanager "compiz"
Reboot your system and you should be good to go.
I have compiz working on mate 13 (32bit)
