Compiz Cube glitch

Postby Patchett on Mon Sep 09, 2013 7:48 pm

Hello im new to linux and ive been enjoying it very much and am running linux mint 15. but i recently installed compiz and have been having some troubles. Ive got effects like paint with fire and and wobbly windows to work but whenever i try to use the cube it flips out on me. Like when i go to rotate it the thing turns transparent and the windows start repeating themselves (dont know how to explain that really) and it actually made me restart it because it froze the sides of my screen and would not go away no matter what. I have 3D windows, cube reflection, desktop cube and rotate cube all checked. Could someone help me fix ths? also it would be helpful if you could explain the desktop size options in the general tab.
My computer:
Asus Lancaster8 mobo
Pentium D 915 @ 2.8ghz
2 gb ddr2 ram
40gb HDD @ 7200rpm
Nvidia Geforce 210 1gb ddr3
I have also noticed that the CPU is working alot sometimes and i was told it was mostly GPU based so maybe somethings wrong there? Ive tried the version 310.44 0obuntu2 driver (recommended) and the xserver-xorg-video-nouveau driver.
So ive turned to you guys,
Thanks!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Well i figured out it only does it when it has a window/program open and you slide it. Rather disapointed as i liked this feature.
Any Ideas how to fix this and high cpu usage?
