I suppose I might've done something wrong, but I have no clue lol
I downloaded the 1.7.2 Conky package from the conky website, and extracted it to the desktop. I then followed the instructions from the site and ran ./configure from the ternimal with a few parameters that the website said to include.
It came up with this error:

Anyone have any thoughts? :<
Also I'm running Linux Mint 7 Gloria, Main Edition. with the Gnome desktop, as you can see.
I don't know if Conky works on Gnome, but I'm hoping it does. =\

Re: Problem installing Conky
Did you, also:
After you have done what you did ... open a Text Editor and create a file " .Conkyrc " paste your conky specs in it and save it to your Home Folder
Then, open Terminal and type " conky " . . . and your Conky should appear.
Getting to open at Start-up is another matter. But, the Conky should open from Terminal.
I think this is all I did.

Re: Problem installing Conky
The best place to learn how to compile your own Conky or use someone elses Conky, and make changes for your computer is:
In the Ubuntu forums or the LinuxMint Forums . . . do a 'search' for Conky.
Here: http://forum.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=30209
And, of course, the Conky websites:
http://conky.sourceforge.net/index.html
http://conky.linux-hardcore.com/
I compiled/made my own Conky. I was lots of fun making it. Good Luck !!
