Conky and Beryl (Celena)

ok, i had conky working just fine under ubuntu, but with the default Beryl in Celena, my conky "flashes".

i've done all the tricks i know of (enabled double buffering and edited xorg.conf to include load "dbe").

anything i'm missing?

And if you don't use Beryl, what happens?
As I don't really know what you mean with "flashes" - is it just visual or are readings affected too?
