[SOLVED] On startup, conky is above windows

Postby Myrmidon83 on Sat Apr 30, 2011 2:35 pm

Hey gang, have a little issue with conky I need help with.

I have my .conkyrc file all created fine which works, however when I log out/restart, Conky appears where it's supposed to but above all windows and I have to go into the .conkyrc file, save it and then it goes to the way I want it.

I think this stems from ages ago when I first tried it, I kind of edited the conky.conf file in /etc.

Anyway, I'll post both my conky.conf and .conkyrc so hopefully someone can help me out, pretty sure it's a simple fix.

Conky.conf:

Try this.

In both files, change the line

Code: Select all
own_window_type override

to read

Code: Select all
own_window_type normal

Once again Aging Technogeek you have come to my rescue.

That's fixed it right up. :D

Cheers!

EDIT: Perhaps I spoke too soon, now it has some kind of shine around the conky box.

[SOLVED] Re: On startup, conky is above windows

I found out how to solve the glow around the conky window.

In conky settings manager, go to effects>window decoration and in the 'shadow windows box' put in:

Code: Select all
!title=Conky

This will remove the glow around the conky window on the desktop.

Hope this helps someone else.
