[SOLVED] conky

Post by Psychp »

I've come across this: http://vindsl.com/images/vindsl-desktop ... 282%29.png
I'm guessing this is not a standard conky config as I've been through the man page and found nothing of the sort.
Is this CONKY-colors? ( http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ ... tent=92328 ) For some reason it wont let me zoom the screenshots so i can't see if it uses similar features.

Also, how much more difficult is it to create the config file? I've just recently gotten comfortable with the standard conky configuration.

cheers

There's no such thing as a standard Conky config I don't think. Every distro packages it in their own way. There is a million and one different things you can do to Conky to have it show what you want, how you want. Colours is just about showing a variety of colours instead of just one I think. I'd suggest looking at the Crunchbang forums for a Conky resource. The Mint forums also have their own Conky thread now. Between those two, people posting screenshots and their own .conkyrc files and links to other sites, you'll be able to pick and choose, modify etc to your heart's desire to make what you want. Many require installing extra scripts to do things, or extra fonts to display things like weather clouds, sun etc

I did a screencast on Conky a while back, not sure how much would be of use to you, perhaps the second half. http://thistleweb.co.uk/screencast/linux/conky

That is VinDSL's conky. If you go over to ubuntuforums.org and search for "conky" there is a thread where it is all laid out for you.
