[1/2 SOLVED] Problem With Compiz Fusion In Linux Mint x64

Postby Kamikaze78 on Thu Mar 01, 2012 3:47 am

Kinda wearly 1/2 solved.... I guess its more of a patch then actully solved. I configured Nvidia X server to turn on my 2nd screen (TV) on boot. And now I get a cube, but... is only because I now have 2 screens from my PC monitor, and 2 screens from my TV, making my cube. Also on boot, when I first load into X Server, once compiz loads, it switches me to 1 Desktop... then I have to change it back to 4 to get my cube. All I need to figure how now... is how to stop compiz from switching it from 4 desktops into 1. Any ideas?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just installed Linux Mint x64, I also installed the nvidia driver, and compiz fusion. All the animations work, except the desktop cube. I have 4 desktops set, but when I go to rotate all I have is a flat wall almost like my desktop cube is set up with 2 desktops instead of 4. I have never had this problem with any other distro. Also... I didnt see the unsupported plugins. Anyone have any idea how to get them and install them... I love the snow plugin.
I am also noticing that if I try to enable/disable desktop wall or cube... I think compiz crashes on me. Anyway, ccsm disapears, so I reload it and the setting that I just clicked is as if I didnt click it. So if I uncheck desktop cube, when I reload it desktop cube is still checked
And on another note... I noticed that I needed to log in without compiz, slect 4 desktops, and then log in with compiz before it would save the setting @ 4 desktops. It kept reverting to 2. But since I did that, now when I load compiz it resets the number of desktops to 1, and increasing the desktops to 4 still gives me a 2 desktop version of the cube ( A Wall ).
I am going to try a fresh install of compiz and see if it works - Failed... its still broken
And if this helps anyone identify the problem...
