Linux Mint 12 Gnome Classic special sounds?

Okej.
This time I wish I could hear some sounds inside MInt when I close or open some application.
There can be only one sound for opening and one for closing etc.
Since I replaced *.wav file for opening my Mintie, there are no sounds inside the OS even that I turned notifications alarms On.
Any ideas how to solve my little problem and add sound functionality to Mintie?
