[SOLVED] Windows+R version in Linux

I'm use to running apps by adding them to registry on Windows XP, then just hitting Window Button to gether with R and type in a command or a program and it fires up...

how can i do this in Linux?

Alt+F2 opens the run window where you can type a command to run a program. If you want to add programs to the menu, depending on which edition of Linux Mint you are using you would right-click the menu button and choose Edit menu. From there you can add new entries to your menu as wanted.

thanks - found how to alter it, under preference > keyboard shortcut... just changed alt+f2 to mod4+r [mod4 being window logo button]
