libre office numbers

i tried to change the language option on the system. wanted to type hindi...unsuccesful. but after this. the text document is showing arabic or some unknown numbers. the same applies to spread sheet. tried changing the language option...did not work. the fonts are ok in english. the number are some gibberish. please help.
