Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Now that we are thinking about the look of Linux Mint Carbon, it seems like it would be a good time to get some neat ideas from existing Linux Mint desktops out there. So, make your desktop pretty, and then take a screenshot of it (PrintScreen) with your favourite applications and your home folder open. Post your desktop!

I'll start:
Image
  • Linux Mint 4 Daryna running Gnome and Compiz
  • The new Batman trailer in VLC
  • Daft Punk is current playing in Banshee
  • Linux Mint website open
  • Was doing some PHP hacking via Eclipse.
  • Compiz Switch is installed so that I can quickly turn on and off compiz depending on if I want the Compiz effects to drain my laptop's battery life.
Now's your turn to post your desktop!

Hope this works, and a big Hello to everyone. I've been a Linux & BSD enthusiast since I got sick of Win95 crashing on me and I've never looked back. Mint is by far my favorite Distro, and this community has impressed me as well. Looking forward to contributing here when I can.
Hi there Tofucifer!
Nice paper and slick theme!
Welcome to the Linux Mint family!

I'm running a sort of hybridized Linux Mint 4.0 + Ubuntu Hardy Heron that I dub Mint 4.5. I've back-ported or implemented many features from Hardy to my Mint desktop, including the new Evolution 2.22, World Clock applet, latest Clearlooks engine & themes, Xserver-xcb, latest Compiz-Fusion, Vinagre, Rhythmbox, and did I mention even Policykit and the latest Gnome 2.22? And many many more. :-) There's more in it that's NOT Mint 4. Nevertheless, in spite of the cutting edge software I do prefer a clean, elegant look for my Mint.

Tofucifer,
Welcome to Mint, and a great first post. One word on the desktop and theme - WOW! This is the theme I've been thinking about ever since I saw the dark theme of Debian Elive E17 desktop. However, my art skills on the computer being what they are (enough said). Really like it. Was this your own creation? And can I use it?
Again welcome.
