That is a really good looking desktop. Where did you get that background from?

I'd be interested in knowing what that system/cpu/network monitor app running on Saokonim's desktop is called.

conky, I prefer screenlets though, conky flickers if you have compiz enabled (Load "dbe" did not cut it for me).

I got rid of Rainlendar after discovering it uses more memory than my torrent client

So here's the new desktop - the larger, numbered stars are my data partitions.

If you have some spare time look around gnome-look and linuxmint-art.org . Do you like something specific?

Works fine for me, too, but how are you getting that transparent interface on your desktop?

CCSM - General Options - Opacity Settings tab, click on New, then add this:
Code: Select all
Tooltip | Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu

If you want the Dock/Panel to be transparent as well, add one with just dock in it :)
And conky flickered all the time for me, Load "dbe" did improve it somewhat, but still terribly annoying, so I just went for Screenlets instead

Gave me more options :)

Conky was working just fine for me, but after seeing screenlets, I'm going that way instead. Thanks for the tip!

No problems, they work best if you have Compiz enabled though, I have heard they look pretty ugly without it :(

I've got all kinds of Compiz enabled, and the sysmonitor screenlet looks great after some tweaking. Here's a link to a screenshot of my new desktop:
