Desktop Screenshots Thread - December 2012

Post by vrkalak »

REMINDER: from the Forum Staff:

Please continue to use clickable-thumbnails linking to the larger image -- to help those with slower connections.

Many image-hosting sites will automatically generate 'clickable-thumbnails' for you, as well.

An example of the BBC code needed is below.

Code: Select all

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The forum now has an option to resize images to 320x240 pixels using "rimg" tags.
This gives a large enough image to display clearly but doesn't cause a problem for those with slow connections
You can insert a pair of such tags with the "rimg" button, which sits rightmost on the row of buttons above the text field where you type your message.

Upload your image to an image hosting site then paste the URL of the "Direct" or "Download Image" link between the rimg tags.

Code: Select all

[rimg]http://link.to.your.image[/rimg]
This posts on the forum a 320x240 pixel clickable image which links to your original-sized image.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Thank you - for your continued support of LinuxMint.

Bit off topic, but how's it going with Pinguy, mmesantos, and where is it headed DE/shell wise, do you know? (RazorQt? Gnome Shell? Cinnamon? Other?). Was my distro of choice for a while before I settled on Mint, haven't kept track.

Eh, my desktop

Hi bimsebasse,
Well as for PinguyOS I ran the alpha's and Beta and the OS was stable then just some features missing due to the maintainers of them had not updated there stuff for 12.10 yet. As for the DE they are still using Gnome-Shell at the moment, I did make a suggestion for Cinnamon on there forum but not sure how that will go. For my self I like Gnome-Shell and Cinnamon about the same so either way I would say the OS will be great once final is released. Also nice screenshot, love that wall, I used it in a Chakra screenshot my self a bit ago. :D

Beautiful desktops everyone!

@Exploder, love the wall, nice work on your KDE install. :D

Ok I have been playing with BE::Shell. Basically it replaces the Plasma Desktop on a KDE install. I am loving it so far, just so much you can do with it. Here is my current setup. :D
