REMINDER: from the Forum Staff:

Please continue to use clickable-thumbnails linking to the larger image -- to help those with slower connections.

Many image-hosting sites will automatically generate 'clickable-thumbnails' for you, as well.

An example of the BBC code needed is below.

Code: Select all

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The forum now has an option to resize images to 320x240 pixels using "rimg" tags.
This gives a large enough image to display clearly but doesn't cause a problem for those with slow connections
You can insert a pair of such tags with the "rimg" button, which sits rightmost on the row of buttons above the text field where you type your message.

Upload your image to an image hosting site then paste the URL of the "Direct" or "Download Image" link between the rimg tags.

Code: Select all

[rimg]http://link.to.your.image[/rimg]
This posts on the forum a 320x240 pixel clickable image which links to your original-sized image.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Thank you - for your continued support of LinuxMint.

I officially stopped distro hopping. It's my new year's proposal :)
At the moment I'm at an old Linux Mint 12 LiveCD with MGSE, removing my hopping distributions with GParted. It remembers me the first time I tried mind. I didn't like MGSE, but now I love it! Although I obviously will still use Cinnamon.

Looks good! I wish Mate could have nice themes like Cinnamon has though!

Yes indeed! It really looks very fresh and bright. Better than that green colour Mint is using.
I'm looking to freshen up my Cinnamon desktop too. When i'm done i place a screenshot here too.

Thanks!

Hell, playing with MATE is amazing. I went to my Maverick virtual machine and got its Ambiance theme from there. It's much better than all the others that I could download, if you're interested I could send you the targz with the Ambiance and Radiance themes, plus the Ubuntu Mono Dark/Light icon themes, which are also different of the current version.
The most important thing of using the Maverick theme is because GTK3 apps look just blank with the available Ambiance and Radiance themes on Internet, while with this one they just look bad. The only theme that makes both GTK2 and GTK3 apps look equally is Mint-X, but that's... Pretty standard :P

Which one do you preffer? The brownie Karmic Human theme, or the darkie Maverick Ambiance theme?

Personally, I'm a big fan of the ambiance and radiance themes (at least as far as default themes go). The human theme was a little bit too... brown and orange for me  . It has a nostalgia affect, though  .

It has been a nice experience to be on Gnome 2 again, but I have to modernize because GTK3 looks weird on MATE. So back to Cinnamon, with a cattie wallpaper.

Didn't know I could span one large image across two monitors.
Even posted a Solved thread doing it.
