REMINDER: from the Forum Staff:

Please continue to use clickable-thumbnails linking to the larger image -- to help those with slower connections.

Many image-hosting sites will automatically generate 'clickable-thumbnails' for you, as well.

An example of the BBC code needed is below.

Code: Select all

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The forum now has an option to resize images to 320x240 pixels using "rimg" tags.
This gives a large enough image to display clearly but doesn't cause a problem for those with slow connections
You can insert a pair of such tags with the "rimg" button, which sits rightmost on the row of buttons above the text field where you type your message.

Upload your image to an image hosting site then paste the URL of the "Direct" or "Download Image" link between the rimg tags.

Code: Select all

[rimg]http://link.to.your.image[/rimg]
This posts on the forum a 320x240 pixel clickable image which links to your original-sized image.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Thank you - for your continued support of LinuxMint.

Ubuntu and GNOME Shell with Faience Ocre :D
I'm thinking to go back to Mint, but people say "if it works, don't touch it." Perhaps I should stay here, GNOME Shell works pretty good and I can install Cinnamon here if I get mad with Gnome...

Nothing too exciting. I just reinstalled because I got sick of Ubuntu and the xorg-edgers ppa kernel locking up my system. Also I wanted to use KDE but 4.10 broke. So back to Cinnamint it is!

Here's my setup, as you can see it's pretty basic.
Looking for a nice conky config that has a nice clock and shows some basic system data :)

Cool but settled on yawp weather plasmoid added to panel tray instead on desktop for weather. Hover over gives popup with satellite image and a lot more weather info including sunrise & sunset. And frees up desktop space as also what instance weather info available.
.

@Orbmiser - installed yaWP but not without hassles. Had to install lot of dependency packages to compile though have to admit it is worth the efforts. Amazing options on hover. Thanks for the suggestion.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install build-essential checkinstall kdelibs5-dev kdebase-workspace-dev

That's strange as only had to right click panel>panel options>Add widget>Search for widget online and double click to install.
That was on Mint 14 KDE. No manual downloading or building or term needed.

Hmm...I run MInt 13 (KDE updated to 4.10.1). I tried the same and searched for widgets but did not find yaWP though there were weather apps.
Saw other posts where users had experienced similar dependency issue while installtion.

Hmmm shows up in search. Right-click panel>panel settings>unlock widgets>add widgets>
Select Get new widgets goes out to internet retrieves latest shows up right away with search weather for them.
