I love your cinnamon desktops, Brahim.
It is so great to see COLOR instead of the boring black and white and grey themes.
I have spent many, many hours configuring color into my desktop - which is the main reason I will be staying with Mint 13 Cinnamon for a long time. I don't want to do all that work with a new version of Mint.

No challenger... just a wannabe challenger.
Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon (64 bit), Quad core AMD A8-3870 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 6550D, 8GB DDR3, Ralink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI
Microsoft-free environment since 1996

Here is my Xmas desktop.

Image

To get the frosted transparent menu, I used the Ergo Md Theme, and just added these lines (copied from the Win7 Theme).

.menu-background {
border: inset 1px solid rgba(20,20,20,0.5);
background-gradient-direction: vertical;
background-gradient-start: rgba(80,108,150,0.7);
background-gradient-end: rgba(170,200,255,0.7);
box-shadow: 1px 1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.0);
border-radius: 8px;
border-radius-bottomright: 0px;
border-radius-bottomleft: 0px;
background-bumpmap: url("/usr/share/cinnamon/bumpmaps/frost.png");
}

I simply pasted those lines into /Home/user/.themes/Ergo Md/cinnamon/css/menu.css on line 5, right after
/* Main menu title */

That is it - nothing more to change. I did change some colors here and there - but that is optional.

Works with Mint 16 Cinnamon and Mint 13 Cinnamon.

Install Ergo Md Theme with System Settings > Themes > Get More Online

It looks even better with a lighter color gradient, less border, and blue font.

.menu-background {
border: inset 1px solid rgba(195,216,255,0.5);
background-gradient-direction: vertical;
background-gradient-start: rgba(170,200,255,0.6);
background-gradient-end: rgba(219,231,255,0.6);
box-shadow: 1px 1px 1px 1px rgba(195,216,255,0.0);
border-radius: 8px;
border-radius-bottomright: 0px;
border-radius-bottomleft: 0px;
background-bumpmap: url("/usr/share/cinnamon/bumpmaps/frost.png");
