Uninstall all Gnome

Postby walrus_t on Thu Feb 06, 2014 11:50 pm

Hi everyone,

I have LMDE for... I don't remember, but a long time. I'd really like to uninstall all gnome-related stuff, that is not needed anymore by Cinnamon. Any suggestions to do that?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Read the UP note available in MintUpdate. The packages you can remove are listed in there!
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

after uninstall those package mentioned by killer de bug you can further clean your system by:
1. install deborphan
2. run 'sudo aptitude purge $(deborphan --guess-all)' several times until no package got removed.
if it tell you run 'apt-get autoremove' just do it.

Worked perfectly... Definitely feel "cleaner" but I still have things like two "Users and Groups" entries in Administration menu...
