Volume controll applet for alsamixer. Request

I found that sound applet doesn't work since i removed pulseaudio.
There's an extension for gnome-shell that use alsamixer to control volume bypassing non existing pulseaudio. I works ok when i login with gnome3 session, however i rather use cinnamon.
Could somebody make this extension working on cinnamon? The files are very similar but apparently it doesn't work for me.
I use LMDE UP5 if that's relevant.
