I upgraded today to UP6. Everything went smoothly. My issue is Cinnamon, it fails to load properly. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Cinnamon, including mint-meta-debian-cinnamon,mint-debian-core, and uninstalled mint-x-themes.
When I run the command "version --cinnamon", it does report 1.6.7. Cinnamon settings are in menu but any changes I make,nothing happens.
Under processes, no Cinnamon is found.
I have restarted Cinnamon a few times.
When I log in and choose Cinnamon 2d, that works,,,,When I choose Cinnamon or System default ,that is where the problem is.
I am running conky and AWN , LMDE 64

as you can see GLX Renderer Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe you are not using the nvidia driver but nouveau.
somehow in the upgrade to the new kernel nvidia is not installed. but cinnamon should work (should) because you have Direct Rendering Yes odd
- how did you installed the driver in the first place?

I use smxi and just recently upgraded to a new kernel (liquorix) and that is when a new nvidia driver was installed...
I noticed on boot up a FAIL message about a the cprufreq module not loading but that may be a another issue...

I reinstalled...using the debiian-nvidia option in smxi rather than current-nvidia option..

ahh explained others will have more experience with sgfxi/smxi than me but i believe that after every kernel update you have to run it again.
