Lost Desktop folder

Lost Desktop folder

Postby rabideau on Sun Nov 04, 2012 9:35 am

I am running the UP5 of LMDE. I was running firefox and suddenly all my desktop files and the desktop folder vanished. Is the any way to restore or even find the old files and then rebuild the desktop structure.

I had
/home
/home/mark
/home/Desktop
/home/mark/[other dirs]

Now I have
/home
/home/mark
/home/[other dirs]

All the [other dirs] now appear on my gui Desktop but there is no visible /Desktop folder below /home/mark

Ideas????
Pax vobiscum,

Look in .config/user-dirs.dirs in your home folder...

Try:
Code: Select all
sudo updatedb

Then:
Code: Select all
locate Desktop | grep "/Desktop/"

In case whole folder was moved in error.
