Screensaver doesn't work properly

You can't disable the screensaver from the menu/settings.

Even if you unclick the settings there, it doesn't work. If you are watching a video in VLC, for e.g., the screensaver will still operate and the screen will still turn black.

This has been posted previously yet not one person from the LMDE camp does anything about it?

Nobody? I can ask politely... Has anyone else come across this? Surely, someone watches a movie or video in LMDE and then what happens when watching? If a show or movie is over 1 hr, the screensaver probably comes on before then. I looked at the settings and even if you unclick the setting, it still activates. Moving the time frame is limited, also.

I suppose this request requires tweaking settings manually someplace? That's my guess.
