Can I keep Mate 1.4 while upgrading to LMDE UP7?
The reason I ask is this: Apparently there is a problem with the Mate Global Menu and Mate 1.6. IE: it doesn't work.
I NEED the Global Menu and will not upgrade if I cannot keep it.

Ok, I'm going to try something. Rather than using the update manager, I have locked everything "Mate" in Synaptic and will try an upgrade through there. Lets see how it go's.
