Enlightenment and Composite Effects

Running LMDE and have installed several desktop environments! Just recently I install the E17 desktop and decided to try out some composite effects! Unfortunately, this borked my E17 desktop, I can login, but I can't do anything because the screen is messed up!
In an effort to fix this situation, I uninstalled E17 with a complete removal of all config files as well! Then I reinstalled and unfortunate it did not fix my E17 desktop, it still has problems with viewing the desktop!
Can somebody give me some hints as to how I may fix this situation!
I have spent two days trying to salvage the desktop but no luck so far!
