As the topic say´s, which Steam games would you like to play on Linux? In this case I mean games that´s already on Steam, but not yet for Linux.

I would like to have:
SimCity 4 (the new one too if it will be on Steam in the future)
Age of empire 3 and Age of empire 2 HD
Football Manager 2013

There are surely lots of other games worth buying, but as long as they aren´t on linux, I won´t check them out.

I play Football Manager 2013 in steam (with wine) but it still crashes every now and then... :( Would be great if more games supported linux, then nobody would have a valid excuse to use windows anymore. 8)

What´s so special about CS:GO? Just curious, I´ve only played CS 1.6 and now CS Source since it was really cheap on the sale. But the only real difference I`ve notice so far is the graphics.

Indeed. If my memory doesn´t fail me, I believe all the games on Steam will eventually be ported into Linux. Anyone who can confirm this?

I dont really like CSS it does not play the same as the original game and is very poor for hit boxes and hit registration. Which is why you sometimes get shot after moving out of the line of fire. Generally the gameplay in CSS is poor compared to the skill of the original 1.6 version. CS:GO is looking promising at being more like the original game but with the better graphics of CSS.

Only my opinion of course.

Bubby :)

PS. On your other note about all steam games coming to linux this is not true, only valve have committed to getting all there games running on linux. Games from other vendors may not be ported over.

I'm hesitant as on very limited income. So even $10 is significant and game would just have to work.
Running open driver on Amd 3.0ghz dual core with Ati 4350 and seems to run Sauerbraten: Cube 2 fine.

But not knowing how far I can go with more advanced games and worth the effort?
As don't even know if there is a proprietary driver as none show available in additional drivers.
Or any that could be installed? and work for games better without trashing the desktop?
As at this point not even knowledgeable about my particular card and that it can even support ati drivers?

So until they can give more details about game play requirements that fits linux setups out there.
I would probably not bother with the hassle without some more reassurances that would work with my setup.

Haven't checked but if I bought a PC windows version and they also allowed me a Linux version for free.
Then would alleviate my fears of lost cash.

With Steam, if you buy a game that is linux-compatible, you can install it on windows or linux. You only have to pay for it once and you can install it across multiple computers. It will sync game progress, for the most part, across multiple computers also.

There's a few games on there that are free to play so you're not out anything other than time and effort if they don't work. :-)
Team Fortress 2
Champions of Regnum
Dwarfs

I just wish they would have given us L4D2. It seemed like they did all the work, but never released it.

I am interested in seeing what the developer (Richard Garriott) of ultima online comes out with. He is now making a linux rpg called Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues. I look forward to seeing it.

There is some games I disagree with. I've been turning the heat up on some game developers to not make some of the things they are making look so realistic. I beta tested one game that was blood and gust everywhere, I rated that game in the negatives. Told them to redo it.

I think Valve wanted to focus on getting their older games out the door first. It gives them a chance to make a few new sales on older games as well as valuable experience in porting. So don't worry, it's coming. It's just a question of when.

Ah I see. Well I´ve noticed that I´ve been shot sometimes after moving out of the line of fire. But I´m not really hardcore. A couple of years ago when I played 1.6, I used to play with friends and we sometimes participated in tournaments and such. Then 1.6 might be better. Now I just plays CSS sometimes when I´m bored and just want to get rid of some aggression. :P

One thing I like about CSS is that there are deathmatches, I really hate waiting for the end of the round. Dunno if it´s possible on 1.6 as well though.

Oh I see. Well if the Steam box comes and gets popular they should port other games as well.

I was looking at the video of Wargame: European Escalation and that's one I actually might install steam and buy and try it out.
Kind of reminds me of battlefield, which I used to play in my Windows days.
Have to try installing it on lmde (seen some post how to do it) and then see if that game works on this laptop lol, hopefully it can handle it.
I just hope you can steal enemies vehicles like you could in battlefield and pull sneak attacks without them knowing until it's too late
I hate real life war with a passion but really love it games where the only thing that gets hurt is avatars lol.

I'd really love to be able to play Pro Evolution Soccer on my Linux Mint PC. It's the one game I'd really love to see in Steam, though I don't particularly expect it to happen if I'm honest.

Slightly off topic but it runs perfectly in WINE.

I would love to see all of the Assassins Creed franchise native to Linux.
I can get them to run in Wine with PlayOnLinux, but its tedious and I have a hard time getting a high frame rate.

I'm so happy a lot of Valve games are already ported over... this is a great start!
