I think the issue of integrating the application splash panels into Mint was discussed a month or so ago. I like the idea but IMHO, if you do it for one app you really need to do it for all or none, if consistency and integration is to be followed through to its natural conclusion. That means creating integrated splash screen for all apps with such screens (mplayer, OO, Gimp, to name but a few). A nice idea but a good graphic artist has to volunteer for the job! I'm cetainly not that person
